reflection

So far, I have found this module to be quite challenging but very interesting. I’ve never been much of a computer whiz so its put me in a diffrent space in terms of developing an idea and bringing it to life. I prefer to map things out on paper and flesh ideas out on paper, this course pushes us to work almost solely on computer to create and articulate our ideas. I have enjoyed the process thus far but at times I’ve found it to be quite difficult. Leaning to use flash requires alot of practice and attentinon to detail, amd like most things if you dont do em well, it will show. The lectures themselves also helped me with my creative processes by making me look to refrences I wouldnt have assosiated with interactive media to begin with. Reaseaching things like virtual reality and immersive media made me think about the direction new technology is going when paralleled with some of the movies and TV shows that are currently out and even that were being made years ago, it then made me ask, “its this life immitating art or the other way around?” Upon doing research, I found the the mobile phone was redived from the communicators used in the cult TV show Star Trek. Other such media text that pose the same question are the japanese animation series Gundam Wing in which because the use of virtical tanks ( 60ft robots to be exact) was made so fiesable in te anime, NASA have looked into ways of implamenting this technology into some of there development processes. Minority Report also did the same. The line to weather who copied who came often become blurred but with the advances in technonlgy both on screen and off, most of what we see and do are not far away from reality.
